Emergency CALL TO our Representatives:
Dear Families, Women, Mothers, and those who support our choice to birth with trained, and skilled Licensed Midwives,
Women deserve the right to birth with Midwives trained specifically under the Midwives Model of Care, honoring and respecting the normal physiological birthing process. Licensed Midwives enter a rigorous direct-entry school, meet state requirements of births attended, managed and clinical hours completed before being able to take state boards. Then we are required to maintain standards with up to date knowledge by meeting CEU requirements by the state so we can renew our license (which is required every 3 years).
With autonomy, Midwives can provide care to their clients without the influence of medical practices that are causing an increase in our current c/section rate and US maternal morbidity and mortality at such a high rate for a developed country. Midwives providing care with autonomy to low-risk women and then reaching out to specialists when risk factors present has been proven to keep countries c/s rate low and improve maternal morbidity and mortality rates, not controlling or restricting Midwives and mothers choices.
It is important that we protect our laws and we need your help. This week we are hoping everyone can take a day, or two or three, to reach out to your Representative and express how important BIRTH CHOICE is to you.
We have created a script for your call in and have provided a list of Representatives in our area. Please don’t be afraid to call ALL and read the script so they know how important Midwifery care is to you! You can also write it and fax it in if that is easier for you (however, we did not include fax #s but you can search and it will provide to you)

My name is __________________________________ from ____(CITY)____________. I am calling in support of Direct-Entry Midwives. Please do not open Midwifery Laws to special interest groups. There is nothing wrong with existing Midwifery Laws.
We support the choice for families to have Midwifery Care provided by an Autonomous Midwife. Do not take BIRTH CHOICE away from women in your community.
